Paramount Murcia was one of the first attempts to build a non-Disney, non-Universal world-class theme park by another major movie studio. Located on the Mediterranean coast about 270 miles southeast of Madrid, Paramount Park Murcia was planned to feature 30 attractions with an adjacent shopping center, hotels and casino. Hetzel Design was involved in this project from its conception, helping Paramount team with master planning, architecture and attraction design.
While this ambitious project was not realized, its design philosophy and many attraction ideas became a valuable wireframe for numerous new international theme park projects by Paramount.
